Owner Martin Byrnes at Fair Dinkum Country Furniture.

At Fair Dinkum Country Furniture they have a simple 
philosophy - only buy and sell Australian made products. 

Owner, Martin Byrnes has been in the furniture business for some 
20 years and was dismayed by the direction it was taking. 
"The customers can see by looking around that everything is much 
the same these days because most retailers are buying imported 
furniture, to me that is very sad, especially when there are so 
many Aussie manufacturers out there like us." 
Mr Byrnes was determined when he started his own business at 
Yallah 10 years ago to make a difference. "We now manufacture 
in the store, so there is quicker production. We are keeping 
the money in the Illawarra, and we can have things custom made 
to what we want, that's a big part of our business." 
"Instead of buying the same old thing you can see everywhere, 
you can come in and change sizes, you can even change the 
design of something if you want to." 
Fair Dinkum carries a wide range of furniture including dining suites, 
wall units, buffets, hutches,  television entertainment units, chests of 
drawers, wardrobes and bedside chests. All our furniture is in solid 
pine with no use of particle board or similar products.
